What is Lifelong Learning?

Although there are many interpretations of what lifelong learning is, at My Learning Well, we believe that it is the synonymous relationship between life, love, and learning. This transcends childhood or classroom experiences, taking us into a journey throughout the stages of life.

Lifelong learning marks the journey of "becoming" our authentic and best selves -- recognizing that it requires an on-going edification of being. As we grow, we become more present and mindful of the choices we make, the habits we hold dear, and the thinking that maintains or limits our evolution of heart and mind. In addition, we are better able to access deeper, more meaningful perspectives, strengthen our ability to empathize, grow our self-knowledge, and build a life of wisdom.

How does My Learning Well Coaching differ from therapy?

Coaching is not therapy or a replacement for medical care or therapeutic services. My Learning Well Coaching services respects and acknowledges the influences of personal or organizational histories, but does not necessarily seek to unearth or address deep seeded vulnerabilities that have overwhelming psychological or environmental impact.

Coaching is a supportive system that helps clients to unblock, unlock, and optimize their thinking, feeling, and being for continuous improvement. Coaching provides informal assessment of breakdown points and needs, skills to strengthen strengths and exercise ares of weakness, facilitation to promote mindfulness, flexibility, and wisdom, and strong support throughout the phases of growth, development, and enhancement.

How long can I expect to work with My Learning Well before seeing results?

Our goal is to provide you with strategies that will actualize gains in an efficient manner. The rate of breakthroughs depend upon the areas and topics you are focusing on, and the consistency of your efforts. Many clients report experiencing some shifts within the first week.

Beyong the sessions, what other time commitments do I need to put in toward My Learning Well strategies?

Because each client has an individualized plan of action, each will have different amounts and types of homework commitments. Generally, we strive to assign “homework” that is a minimum for maximum results.

Can I involve other people beside myself (my spouse/partner/boss/co-worker)?

Yes, but only upon agreement between you and the My Learning Well consulting coach.

Are there topics in which My Learning Well can't address?

Lifelong Learning coaching covers many topics. You and the coach will decide together what topics are best for you to focus on in coaching.

Can I meet with a My Learning Well coach in person?

My Learning Well has a local component in CT for residents willing to come in for services. Our online version uses email, IMing, and telephone services that allows us to offer a wide range of support services with maximum flexibility of scheduling. We have a number of very satisfied clients who have never come in for a face to face meeting. Depending upon your location and needs, My Learning Well can help you to decide what is best for you.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

Early on, you will be asked to sign an agreement stating a respectful relationship whereby if a cancellation is necessary, you will notify us within 12 hours prior to your appointment, in order for you to not be charged for the session. Cancellations less than 12 hours prior to the appointment, are usually forfeited, but may be discussed with your coach on a case by case basis.
